Humberto's Thoughts brain with lightbulbs around it

Generation of “Whatever”

Every generation consists of a specific attitude for its teens. The 50’s conformed, the 60’s rebelled, and the 70’s were independent. But now, I live in the generation of “whatever”; in the sense of not caring, or acting as though one does not care. My problem is that I don’t fit in with my peers… I care way too much and I wear my emotions on my sleeve. Rarely I find a day that I'm not either laughing out of pure madness, or on the verge of a mental breakdown...love my life *grits teeth*. What's worse is that after my generation it only gets worse. You see middle school kids already giving up, as if they've been suffering endless years of torture. Try staying up till about 4 in the morning on a school night writing a paper that has taken 7 straight hours of work, and then come talk to me. I honestly believe that more and more children feel so entitled that they believe that rules and work shouldn't/don't apply to them. IN WHAT WORLD DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?? Apparently in their small minded world it does. Ummmm sorry to tell you this but the more you make things about yourself and your own needs, the more you're closing yourself off to the world and all the things it has to offer. Learning, healthy friendships, love, and just overall happiness are some of the major things that the world has to offer. By closing yourself off, you are only attracting all these negative emotions and forces. OH, and then some people have the nerve to ask, "Why is my life so hard?" or when they mess around and say "I want to die!". How bout STOP thinking that life and your problems are just "whatever", and actually start doing something beneficial. Enough ranting, THANK YOU!!!
